Here's what I'm after, with the highest priorities at the top.

  - Working sleep/resume (ie close lid -> sleep, open -> resume)
  - 12 or 14 inch screen
  - 1280 pixels or better horizontal resolution
  - 60G or larger drive
  - 1Gig ram
  - Ethernet
  - Wireless (source code driver)
  - USB
  - Decent sound in and out.
  - External (preferred) CDROM drive.
  - Good battery life
  - Availability of external long life battery.
  - Firewire

Does anyone have any recommendations on machines and/or vendors?

TIA,
Erik
