Compiling the uhci drivers into the kernel and not compiling ohci or
ehci drivers at all finally made this all work nicely :) (usb keyboard
still works etc, haven't tried any other usb devices coz I don't own
any)

for search engines:
HP Photosmart 2575 printer under linux now printing photos in colour the
right way and the birds are twittering joyously and everything is right
in the world.
