Can anyone help on some strange changes to fstab and a mystery boot folder.

I am running FC3 with all the latest updates and have been for about a year now with no problems at all until I noticed a new folder called boot1 and it is empty (the original boot folder is still there and contains what it should). Also, root now has a /1 as the disk label in fstab and boot has boot11, what in the world is going on.

I checked the fstab settings below and they seem a bit odd, so I changed them back to what they should be and what happens - cannot find / no booting. Does anyone have any suggestions? And yes it does boot up fine if I leave the settings. Thanks.
