I want to use the above applet. I've been able to get it to work showing only the All-Ords. However, when I add any new symbol, that new symbol doesn't work--all I get scrolling by is the All-Ords, working properly, followed by the new symbol, say ^AGL.AX, showing a price of 00.00 and saying "no change".

Is anyone else using this applet with multiple symbols they've inserted (as opposed to the default ones) or will it not do that?

The ^ symbol is only for indicies, if you want stocks you dont put in the ^.

Just on another related note, there is some pretty cool open source stock analysis software available, some import metastock data and a number of other formats, which can be streamed in real time from paid data sources or free from yahoo. Yahoo is only updated every 20 minutes, but its free! EclipseTrader and Merchant of Venice are two promising tools, however they are both in early development and often crash and do strange things.

Can anyone recommend any good FOSS projects for share market analysis? any more stable ones perhaps ? The two I mention both do charting and use indicators on a particular stock, what I would like to see is a program that applies many formula to the entire ASX and produce a result given the input guidelines.

If not FOSS, (sigh) any commercial products that run on linux, but dont cost the earth?

Been using this since 2001,

Hope this helps.
