Tks for that. It rather looks like there is not going to be any easy way to do it, so I shall just have to bite the bullet and do it by hand; at least I won't have to update the database too often.

Does anyone know of a source for public holiday calendar dates for Australia (all states) that looks forward, say 2 years. I know that some states don't gazette their holiday dates until the last minute, but I need to be able to regularly refresh a listing I will be using in a database.

In the MacOS world you get them at http://ical.mac.com/ical/ Australian32Holidays.ics

This Google search: http://www.google.com/search?q=public+holidays+site%3Agov.au&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial

Points me to: http://www.australia.gov.au/302

Which has links to the various state sites containing this information.
