Hi Michael

No, I haven't tried the DVico Fusion box with any recent distros other than Kanotix 2005.4 Lite Final.

Before installing this distro I did try to install Mandriva 2006 (from 2 different DVDs), Suse 10 and Knoppix 4.

None of the DVD's for these distros would either boot or , if booting, failed during early part of install process on this particular PC - Suse for instance hanging while trying to install the Sata driver and the pc didn't even have a Sata drive attached.. Kanotix ran OK, so I went with it.

I now have 4 PCs and 1 laptop all running Kanotix on my home Lan.

Given that your earlier post stated "As people would of last saw I bought a DVICO fusion plus card and soon after ditched it." and that you used Ubunto 5.10 to get your twinham card working after "editing some files", I thought that you and maybe others may find it interesting that my Kanotix install found and ran the Dvico Fusion HDTV DVB-T card without the need to do more than run Kaffeine ( included in the distro) and set the location ( Sydney-north shore) for the channels scan and then run same.

As both Ubuntu and Kanotix are Debian based, a running Kanotix ( direct from the LiveCD works with the TV card) and copying the necessary files to Ubuntu shouls also get the card working there. I myself don't know enough about it to name the files, but I've done similar things from knoppix to kanotix or Simply Mepis ( also debian based) and vice-versa in the past to get things working easily.

Hope that this clarifies my earlier post.

As for distros, I have tried many in the past, and have reached the stage where I just try LiveCD distros, and if they do what I want without problems, I install them and go from there. I prefer minimal installs which allow me to install what I need, rather than have an install bloated with dozens of apps that I don't need or use.

Bill

So after all that did you get it working on a distro other then
Kanotix as I am a little confused by your post.

I had a DVICO Fusion Plus card and wasn't overly impressed with it.
Although it did certainly work fairly okay on Windows, just not crash
hot on linux.
