For those remotely interested I thought I would post an update. I upgraded to Mythtv 0.19 and some improvements seen are good, however it comes with a price. I have a few problems, one of which is the slight difference to some mythweb functions. I have been told what I am experiencing is not normal, infact it shouldn't be doing what it is. But it works so thats the main thing, I can work around the issue I am having, but would be nice to fix it.
I've found that mythfrontend compiled on OSX and using 26 protocol is buggy. Infact changing channels on the frontend on osx can sometimes crash the application. My old mythfrontend on OSX didn't have this issue, but hey its been compiled by someone different. One thing I like is the channel icons are now visible in the mythweb interface, and oh you can fiinally give your tuners a friendly verbose name which is displayed when first using that input. So my tuners are now both called Twinhan DVB-T TunerX (X=0 or 1) looks nicer then DVBInput name. I think I will stick with 0.19 for the moment and continue to work on solving the odd problem. As I noticed on SVN releases, the livetv is now recorded and placed in your recording directory and these expire every 1 day I believe by default. Bit odd, but this is how that works now. Which is not bad, as you might watch a show and then realise oh I wish I taped it. This way you can export the show from that recording that was made as you watched ;) Any questions, just drop us a email. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
