It may be easier to leave a blank line between labels -- groff usually regards a blank line as a paragraph marker. Alternatively, put ".br" (without the quotes) on each intervening line.

Generally speaking, it is not wise to rely on white space before, during, or after text -- groff has a tendency to "fix up mistakes" made by white space.

Of course, you could always pipe your DVD title collection through awk to produce the groff files. That way, you will end up with all your labels printed out on paper that is ready for guillotining :-)
