Why baffling ?

I tried to install OpenSSL-0.9.8a in FC 4.

Why?


Due to security inadequacy.

But there are far too many
packages that rely on OpenSSL-0.9.7f that comes with FC4. It's
not worth my effort  chasing rainbows.

In addition, considering OpenSSL-0.9.8a comes with FC 5 it's a
good hedge that many hours have been used  to test that it works
with what FC 5 got.
