When I run the sound test, I had to turn sound volume way up
my speakers.  Be aware that the sounds is a very gentle rising
guitar strum -- it is really quite soft and what I would call
a great test for sound.

Er, you're actually complaining about vmware not linux.

Nonetheless, I'll try it out myself.

Worked fine under fedora4, I haven't tried under fedora 5 yet.
