Coming in a bit after the fact but just a couple of thoughts,

*if* you had .jpg files in different directories of the same name, then obviously by moving them all into the one directory you will have lost some of them by being over written by the files that were move later in the sequence.

Also *if* you had .jpg files with spaces in their names and you used a combination of find | xargs to move them and forgot to use the -0 options, then you could have missed some files.
