Check the headphones themselves. I have headphones that work perfectly but when I plug in my speakers I get this buzz occasionally and it is because of something shorting in the wiring when it moves around. Make sure your jack connects in a nice solid way. It may be possible to open the machine and fiddle with the connector (or even replace it) to correct a loose connection.
