On laptops (if it is a laptop), you can press the function key along
with one of the F control keys and it will cycle through the video on
the output connectors.
one is screen only, one is external vga only, one is both, and then back
to screen only. Look on your keyboard for a function key along with a
corresponding key with a monitor looking square on it and try the
combination.
