Sometime ago I was frustrated about the broadcom cards support and did as much digging around as possible to find anything I could about them (ie, I did a lot of googling ;) Anyway, at some point I read that the broadcom cards are not limited to broadcasting in the appropriate wireless radio range in hardware, rather the frequency range is mostly controlled in the drivers.. and as such, if they were to release the specs, people could start broadcasting radio signals in all sorts of banned ranges, including the military's RF band, so they pretty much can not release the specs.. or so I read, I can't attest to the truth of this, but thought it was very interesting none the less :) -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
