Hello, I have been searching the internet and posting in forums about a problem I am having with audio and the use of microphones.
All of the information that I can find has not solved the problems. I dont quite understand enough about how ALSA and OSS work and where to find all of the relevant configuration files and what everything means inside them..and what other options there may be. I was wondering if there was someone amidst SLUG who understands how the audio is handled in Linux and if they were happy to offer some assistance? I realise that you probably get 100s of cries for help like this, but I am desperate! I live in Sydney and am happy to attend a SLUG meeting if there are any that are designated for open and ad-hoc discussions amongst members for the purpose of problem solving. I am also happy to help absolute Newbies (I am a bit of a noob myself but there are simple things that I can help absolute noobs with).
