Calling all people that enjoy Video on Linux:
LCA2007 in January will be the best conference ever - and it is our aim to spread the fun to the world via live streaming, and to take records for the advantage of history and our next-generation decendants! Alas, video magic will need many helping hands! Lend yours, so we can hold our promises!! We are preparing several lead-up events to prepare ourselves for the big one. On August 12th, we will have a videofest at UTS, to play some with the technology, discuss what resources we will need, and form ourselves into groups. If you can, it'd be great to bring a laptop and a USB webcam, or even a DV camera and a firewire card. On September 16th, Software Freedom Day at UNSW, the groups will have a first trial with recording and streaming of the day's talks. It will be fun to try it all out in a friendly and unexpecting environment. We should be able to create some cool videos, maybe better than last year's (see the last 5 on this list: http://media.annodex.net/cmmlwiki/Special:ListHTML ). Please mark your diaries with these events. I'll send location updates closer to the dates. Cheers, Silvia. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
