Jeff gives good advice. Look at setting up as a Sole Trader initially and later moving to a company if your turnover justifies it. Being a Sole Trader means you have an ABN, a Registered name for the Business and thus other companies, suppliers, and clients look upon you more favorably than if your an individual. I have found that you are treated just like you represent a company if you are a Sole Trader. And Sole Trader will only cost about $200 for the Business name, rego setup.
