This is something I can agree on. Take the cord from the wall into your computer monitor or tower/desktop case. The end that goes in your computer is the IEC plug ( or variety of it. ie male or female, never remember which is which). And the end that goes into the wall is the aussie mains socket end. SO yeah, both different.
