Actually, based on the level of the questions:

Get an ethernet ADSL modem and do not accept anything else. There will be 
tears if you ignore this. 

I believe that (yesterday install) AAPT offer broadband with a single port 
ethernet router. This is a goodish solution.

Install your computers to use DHCP.
