I have become comfortable with using Linux on a stand alone computer but I have recently installed ADSL hardware and I now realise that I don't know very much about networking and theres so many protocols. Ive never heard of DHCP before in my life! although I have heard of TCP/IP So I was wondering what is the best book for someone like me who wants to connect 2 computers to a router/modem which is connected to the inernet and wants to do It wilth Linux or maybe with 1 Linux 1 Doze?
And What is the best book for getting familiar with linux as the one I have was published in 1999? Is it best to buy a distro specific book such a SUSE #.# for dummies or a general Linux book? PS Please be aware that I have emailed before on this subject but the email has been waylaid -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
