I also like Evince, but it has one annoying characteristic: In "dual"
mode, it shows the first page on the left. The main reason to view in
dual mode is to see how page breaks go when a book is lying open. It
should show even numbered pages (verso pages) on the left, odd number
pages (recto pages) on the right.

I don't see any way to change its behavior, and the help file doesn't
offer any clues.
