Disable UDMA. The NVRAID on the A8N-SLI (including Deluxe model) seems to be a tad iffy. I got the SLI-Deluxe just to get the additional four non-NVRAID socks. When you disable UDMA it'll slow down transfer rates a bit on PATA drives though. Also, make sure the kernel module is in place - everyone seems to have covered everything else.
