The 3Com Homeconnect camera is about the most awesome webcam you can get for low light, or at least it was until they were discontinued. You can still get them on eBay though. I have one you can have to test out, the CCD is a bit buggered on it after shining a laser into it.

Hi, I'm after a couple of webcams with excellent low-light performance (maybe even an infra-red option), that perform well on a 256Kbps upstream, with a bit of room for audio too... I guess 33Kbps for G729 VoIP should be ok, unless there's a better way to send audio with a stream. Any good Ubuntu 6.10 friendly models out there?
