Hi esteemed ladies and gentleman...

I have a couple of questions which I am currently googling which I would value people's opinion on:

1. Never having used NAS before, I am looking to find out the relative performance benefits of NAS as opposed to the plain ole' linux box file server, and

2. kinda related, are SATA drives now good enough to use instead of SCSI (in a RAID)?

The particular application I am looking to use it with is where I would guarantee 40-50 concurrent users accessing files of the storage unit at once.

TIA
Fil
