My Benq Joybook A32E has suddenly developed a stuffed eth0 port. The
port can be "seen" by the system but cannot connect to anything
I've checked the Lan cable and the Ethernet switch by plugging them into
another PC which works OK.
Before I give the laptop into the tender hands of BenQ's repair center (
thankfully I took the 3 year warranty) I want to back up (clone?) both
my XP-Pro and my Linux partitions.
As the ethernet port isn't working I obviously can't do this over my LAN.
I would like to use MondoRescue as it can back up as contiguous CD/DVD
images, either to hard disk or directly to CD/DVD.
I have previously done this by booting Kubuntu 6.06 LiveCD and
downloading and installing MondoRescue, but as the ethernet port is not
working, this is not an option.
Is anybody aware of a LiveCD distro that includes MondoRescue?
Another option I haven't yet tried is to attach an external hard disk
via firewire or usb and use Keep to backup but I's rather use MondoRescue.
Thanks in advance
Bill
