I changed my 9250 ATI for a 6200 G-Force Nvidia (less than $90 for the 256Mb model) and it runs well. I have it running in the background at this time. Not sure what is causing it to use so much CPU on your machine Ken. It does not take much CPU at all on mine. It is fast and smooth and has no effect on performance.
So if you really want to run it and can't get the ATI running the way you want, an Nvidia is a cheap replacement. (BTW, easyubuntu will go and get the proprietary drivers and install them if you really must.)
