It's actually an IBM workstation (Intellistation M Pro 6850) so I'm not sure such a device would be built for it, as it's not technically a server. > Your other option is perhaps a serial connection to another > server/workstation. The problem I'm having is that _sometimes_ it doesn't cleanly shut down, and as I've removed the video card there's no way of knowing why. A serial console might be the way to go. Only trouble is my laptop doesn't have serial! It appears there might be a "console redirect" option in the BIOS, which would do the job. I'll have to put the video card back in to find it, but it's a start. -- Rev Simon Rumble <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> www.rumble.net The Tourist Engineer Because nerds travel too. http://engineer.openguides.org/ "I would defend the liberty of consenting adult creationists to practice whatever intellectual perversions they like in the privacy of their own homes; but it is also necessary to protect the young and innocent." - Arthur C.
