Jeff I absolutely agree and <grin> I told me wif "watch Jeff respond"

But I installed feisty server and selected LAMP.
My index.php was not recognised, so I edited the DirectoryIndex to include
php.
After stuffing around for a couple of hours and NOT getting index.php to open
the www page (vs open with gedit) I threw in the towel.
I'm sure that I could make it work, but it was too much farting around. Of the
dozen or so sites tigger hosts most use php. I expect a LAMP server to
work-out-the-box.
I think that my opinion is a caveat for noobies about ubuntu as a server, and
certainly your enthusiasm is a credit to the significant effort that you
personally put into ubuntu.
I do appreciate your input, I do value the end result, I don't think that it's
a good solution for a novice.
