The chat room I want to access is a private one for paid subscribers. I have logged in to it and because I don't have a Sun Java plug in nothing shows up in the chat window.
Thank you for all the advise. I think I will ask hubby to install Blackdown. I am glad to have found a friendly bunch of linux people here. I thought there would be atleast a chance of finding some graphics /photographic people here because of the big area Sydney covers. I don't know if there are any photographic people in Canberra who use linux. Cheers. Sharon Doig. Ive used both on AMD 64. Konqueror works with java 1.6, but it came undone when I tried to use a secure site. Worked great with runescape but not with the Uni log in. I ended up using Blackdown, and am yet to find a problem. Of course it really annoys me not having the latest stuff, especially when its 1.4 - two versions behind, but it has worked with everything so far, so can't complain. As far as I can make out there isn't one made by Sun. Can people suggest if blackdown java is any good? I have an AMD 64 bit architecture laptop running Suse 10.2. I need the java plug in to access a chat room for my nutrition e-group. > > > > Help, suggestions. > > > > Thanks > > > > Sharon. > > > > > > Sharon Doig in Canberra - Australia > > E: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > > ******************************************** > > Make your mark and achieve success > > or, if need be, die in the attempt. > > Miriam Leslie > > ******************************************** > > > > > > --------------------------------- > > How would you spend $50,000 to create a more sustainable environment in Australia?
