I've had to write things like this:
somecommand *.ext */*.ext */*/*.ext */*/*/*/*.ext
Doesn't exactly scale but once you are up to */*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*.ext
you've probably covered all the bases :)
Perhaps this can be summarised as Rick's Law of Project Completion:
Under extreme deadlines, the no-brainer solution wins over the correct
solution every time. Sadly.
