Hi James,

One really good place to check you plug-ins is:

www.junglewalk.com

Loads of different video and sound about various creatures. My kids love it...okay, I LOVE IT :))

Generally I can get all media working on the sites you mention, with the exception of MSN. I'm running Dapper 6.06.

My settings for Mplayer are:

Nothing in 'Video Output' and 'Audio Output'

a cache size of 512

and I have 'RealMedia Support', 'Helix Emulation', 'Play media directly...', Connect to RTSP...' and Use HTTP...' all unticked.

Hope this helps.

I'm happy to look at the config files of anything else that you're interested in.

Weirdly, I reinstalled 6.06 on my desktop machine recently and have it on my laptop. I cannot access video at: www.smh.com.au on my desktop reinstall, but can with my laptop. Dunno what the problem is.

Regards,

Patrick

Hi
has anybody made the multimedia video work?

BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk [works - mplayer 'open in a standalone
player]
NASA http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/highlights/index.html [stays blank]
NINEMSN http://ninemsn.com.au/ [FOS in the extreeme! but if your
browser report IE on Xp then mplayer plugin accepts but streams not]
NEWYORKTIMES http://video.on.nytimes.com/ [perfect]

Trying this on feisty with mplayer-plugins about:plugins shows realplayer and
windows media (totem) but the whole area is still
really not working for me

James
