On an entirely differnet theme. Some time ago, it used to be possible to "convince" certain BIOS versions that they had a keyboard attached by shorting the PS/2 pins 3 & 4 with a 100K resistor. Trying it today with a "certain" (Compaq Presario desktop P3) box, it doesn't seem to work.
