Thanks to all who provided info.
As I received Michael's reply early Sunday AM and did not recieve the
SLUG digests until much later, I went with his advice.
I actually managed to get it right, and /home was relocated from /hda1
to /hda3, though the increase in storage space thus gained on /hda1 was
only mb's, despite the transfer process stating that data moved was in
the vicinity of 2.2 gb.
I know that /home was moved as I checked by booting MEPIS 7.0 LiveCD and
checking what was where on my drives.
Interstingly, in LinuxMint, after the relocation of /home, different
file managers etc provide different info.
ie:-
Konqueror, booted from the Panel's "Menu of Important System
Places/Storage" shows /home on /hda3
Krusader shows /hda3 as empty and /home still on /hda1 under "/" with
nothing on /hda3 - possibly a labelling issue?
Midnight Commander shows /home on /hda1 ( not as symlink) with nothing
on /hda3
Thanks again
Bill
