Hi All
We recently upgraded a customers old PC based server from a tower to a
rack mounted box and discovered afterwards (isn't it always the way)
that they were running Hylafax on the old machine with two RS232 modems.
Naturally the rack box only had one serial port. We were then in the
situation of either buying (and re-testing) USB modems or finding an
alternative solution.
The good news is that I have found a USB to RS232C convertor that works
"out of the box" (with FC6 at least). They are marketed by a company
called "Wiretek" and cost less than AUS$30 each. No software needed -
just plug them in and away you go - like this:
Feb 18 10:11:11 sydsrv56 kernel: ohci_hcd 0000:00:03.0: wakeup
