Haven't seen this on the list yet and just found out today: "On Wednesday, DeviceVM, the company behind the distribution, said the hardware manufacturer would be putting Splashtop — which Asus calls "Express Gate" — into a million motherboards a month. Splashtop includes a Firefox-derived browser and the Skype internet-telephony application.' http://news.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/0,1000000091,39418766,00.htm
http://www.splashtop.com/ How long before something like AbiWord gets included? Or instead, will we see a transition to Google apps? Personally I only find limited use of Google apps as response is not instantaneous - which is the whole appeal of Splashtop, but it may appeal to enough people. At the very least, this will mean more consumer exposure to Linux, and a a realisation that moving from Windows could be a lot easier than they first thought. Thank you ASUS!
