Lots of things were broken, so you couldn't have just not noticed them, so I think it is pretty likely your version is a newer bug fixed version. Again, perhaps a time issue. I never actually tried it, so I cant reliably comment. I dont know about 3G either, but earlier threads on slug seem promising, and if it works with ubuntu, debian or mandriva, I dont see why it wont work on the eeepc I do know however that my install of Debian does everything (and more) that I hoped for, and by the sounds of it, there are now other great choices too.
