How do I find out if a cpu is 32 or 64 bit? (Notice: cpu, not kernel).

Googling seems to suggest 'cat /proc/cpuinfo' and look for lm in the flags.

Are there any other ways of doing this?

Yes you can look at the model name, but this is only useful if you know from memory that model x is 32 bit and model y is 64 bit.
