I want to spend as little as possible since:

1. I don't think I can relay on these disks any more.
2. I suspect it's the motherboard, which has done its time (about 6 or
so year) so no point in investing in it either.

That's why I asked for some temporary (and hopefully cheaper) way to
get these disks connected.

Thanks for the pointer. I ended up asking to borrow an external case
from the local friendly PC store.
