Hi all Am looking at getting a Eeepc 10inch netbook - either a 1000H OR a S101. Does anyone have an S101 that they can comment on in terms of LCD screen, quality etc as I have seen and played with the H1000 in a few stores but the only store that sells the S101 does not have a demo one that they can boot up and see what it looks like running.
Some people in forums have reported the screen of the 101 isn't as good as the 1000H but others say that's not so. Some have reported some wear of the chrome on the touch pad buttons. Both of these have the Intel Atom chip, battery life for both is similar 4-5 hours. 1000H = 160 GB HD, 1.35 kg = well known machine, feels solid. S101 = 32 GB Flash 1.0 kg = nice & light. http://forum.eeeuser.com Apparently Ubuntu 8.10 installs fine on these machines.
