Sending this again to a wider audience... ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Sridhar Dhanapalan <[email protected]> Date: 2009/10/10 Subject: Introducing... iSLUG 2.0! To: SLUG Activities <[email protected]>
*ahem* Now that I have your attention... With our resettlement to Google complete, we feel that we can start to take better advantage of our new facilities. SLUG has long been a leader of the FOSS community in Sydney. With increased awareness and normalisation of FOSS in recent years, we have seen many other groups sprout. This this is a good thing, but we can do even better with some co-operation and cross-pollination. With this in mind, we are thinking of running BoFs* alongside the main SLUG meeting this month. A community member will be required to co-ordinate each BoF. If you think you can run one, please let us know the topic of the BoF you want to run, and we'll see if we can accommodate. It would also be nice if we could get an approximation of how many people would would expect at your BoF, so that we can allocate enough space. If you want to see a BoF on something, mention it on the [email protected] list and see if any one else is interested. BoFs are intended to be informal, so we don't expect presentations or other prepared material (although we can accommodate if you wish to do so). The details of the next SLUG meeting are at http://slug.org.au/node/119 If you are going to the meeting, please sign-up online using the link in that announcement. That will allow us to organise adequate catering and facilities. If you aren't sure, please sign up as a 'maybe'.
