Hi all
I'm a little new to Linux I brought an AMD semperon based machine last
year from a poota shop in Rooty Hill of all places, firstly cause it was
AMD second of all they were loading Ubuntu and 3^rd cause there pagans.
So all in all a winning combination for a while until I asked them to
make the machine dual boot as I was running windows apps and then after
the dual boot and the techs loaded Kubuntu and that was fine till I did
an update and I couldn't log back in no matter what I did. Given that I
used that machine on a daily basis to stay sane due an ongoing family
court matter I simply stuck with Win XP Pro.
So to date that was my 1^st and only experience with Linux loaded onto a
desk top, I'm now getting machines ready for a community internet cafe
in Balmain that I'll be using the profit from that to fund my welfare
agency that works solely with men in crisis at the moment and then
moving into crisis prevention. (feel free to email me off line if any of
you are experiencing significant challenges in your lives)
First of all I need recommendations on what would be good and simple to
use for the average end user, I've been looking at
http://www.linuxmint.com/ and and then https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu
has been recommended by a friend of mine.
Input and support of any kind would be greatly appreciated as I'm
sitting here at 05.12hrs typing this Open Office after 5hrs sleep due to
dealing with not so independent Children's lawyers who wouldn't know
their aSS from a hole in the ground.
Firstly with chosing a distro and then getting the distro's installed
and any technical support that any of you would be willing to offer,
please feel free to check out

kidnapped for the 3rd time
