I am sure the hardware is OK. With some trial and error I had the
whole system working last week! But yesterday I did a yum update,
which installed the pulseaudio sound server again, and afterwards the
mic was not working anymore. I tried to remove the pulseaudio server
but ended up with an unbootable system (don't ask me how I did that).
Anyway, I did a clean install, installed skype back, but now I'm stuck
without microphone. I don't know how I fixed the problem last week,
but it was more like a bit of trial and error. However, I did that
yesterday and this morning, but it's not willing to cooperate this
time :)
