Ben, Daniel, I was about to give up on this, as, no matter what, it was starting dhclient on reboot and going to DHCP, anyhow, I thought I'd rename backup files by prefixing with '._' as so: ._ifcfg-eth0.bak ._ifcfg-eth0.dhcp so maybe it was looking at ifcfg-eth0.dhcp in preference to ifcfg-eth0 ? what's weird that the system was on 192.168.1.15 last week, and, I had to move to .5, it was only after the NIC crashed that it went to DHCP, after NIC was removed/re-inserted anyhow, thanks again -- Voytek -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
