Hi Fellow SLUGgers,

I have been trying to solve this issue for a few weeks now. I have searched and searched and could not find an easy answer.

I have an Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit install on a Dell Precision M4400. The company I work for is a complete Windows house, so the IT guys freak out when I walk into their office.

We have a Cisco AP that is about 4 years old, I need to connect to it. I have been given a 'certnew.cer' file from the IT guys, but there seems to be some confusion about what I actually need to make this work. I am just using the network manager applet to connect to other networks etc.

These are my options:
Security - Dynamic WEP (802.1x)
Authentication - TLS
Identity - swaller
User certificate - ?
CA certificate - ?
Private key - ?
Private key password - ?

I met with a network security guy on the weekend and he mentioned that I need to use the 'certnew.cer' file to create the other certs?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Scott
