Yes that's right. There is new hardware between my desktop and the Internet. Specifically a Cisco SRP 521W. On client side I've added this to ssh_config (~/.ssh/config): Host * ServerAliveInterval 15 ServerAliveCountMax 3 Seems to be holding.
