There are two interoperable standards for USB mobile phone chargers:

* The Chinese standard requires a USB Type A socket (the big USB plug) on the charger.

* The European standard requires a micro-USB socket on the phone.

Compatibility with both can be achieved by having a charger with a USB Type A socket, a phone with a micro-USB socket and a cable to connect them.
