Seems like I was missing the nfs-client:
nbd-client
nfs-common
Since installing these all is good with the
world...well, with me trying to mount a share on
the FreeNAS set up :)
Sometimes one can be so close but *not quite there*.

That message may mean you haven't got the nfs-client installed on your
system.
Do
dmesg | tail
like it says after the mount attempt, to see what the kernel message
is.
