Cutting and pasting on Linux has two versions. The 'clipboard' and the x windows cut.

To use X windows cut and paste simply highlight the text (left click drag) and the text will be highlighted.

In the second window middle mouse click will paste the contents of the X windows highlight. (assuming it is not overridden in software somewhere)

Subject: [SLUG] Copying mc (midnight commander text) to local clipboard

I have to ssh to a remote machine.

Then I use Midnight Commander for editing. It's pretty much what I like
but ..

.. Anybody know how to copy text to the local clipboard. It over-rides the
ssh clipboard. I want to cut + paste between ssh windows.
