I’m a Librarian.

The Department would like a stocktake.

Our barcode reader can recognise who’s holding it. If it’s my assistant,
it will work; if it’s me, it sulks.

I’d like to:

(a) scan some barcodes,

(b) stack them and

(c) download them to the Department’s system (which, for any fellow
Librarians, is OASIS). The barcode reader uses, I assume, Bluetooth. I’d
be just as happy to download the numbers to a file.

There’s been some discussion lately on android applications that can
manage some of this.

Has anyone any experience (or knowledge of) an application that can do all?

Any help in defeating that wretched barcode reader will be acknowledged in
the New Year’s Honours list.

William Bennett.
