To all interested members:

The IT Standards Committee has a technical subcommittee that looks
at the XML standards. They are the ones who filed a set of contradictions
to the proposed Microsoft/ECMA OOXML standard to become an ISO
standard as well.

Microsoft Singapore is putting into place people to lobby for the ITSC to
vote in favour of this standard which is due by September 2nd 2007.

If you are keen to ensure that their proposed standard is indeed fully
open and available to one and all with no issue, I would encourage
you to contact the ITSC to become members of the XML TC.

We need people who are not driven by and beholden to the Microsoft
mindset to give a fair assessment of their proposed standard at the TC
level.

If you have any interest in this effort please email me privately.

Thanks.

Harish
